The Texas Pioneer Arts Foundation

Henkel Square

Henkel Square is a museum village in the center of Round Top that showcases pioneer German architecture and decorative arts.

Created and maintained by the Pioneer Arts Foundation, it offers an interesting and informative tour of restored Texas pioneer buildings including log cabins and an old pioneer church.

The Pioneer Arts Foundation also offers a variety of educational services and seminars on decorative arts, architecture and area history.

In 1996, the Foundation began the first Round Top Art Festival, a juried art show that featured the work of fifty artists in its first year. The artists represented a variety of media including painting, jewelry, ceramics, drawing, sculpture, photography and graphics.

The Round Top Art Festival will repeat on the first weekend of November in 1997.
